BIMx is the 'Google Cardboard' compatible 3D model environment you can use to view and experience your project, and view all of your documentation. Simply download and install a viewer application on each device you want to use to view the model. This is a guide that shows you how to use the viewer application on a smartphone, iPad or tablet. Desktop users, please see the bottom of the page.
Orbit mode: When the model loads, you can use a single finger swipe to spin it around, and two fingers to zoom in and out like a photo. The button showing a walking person will drop you to the ground so you can walk around, you can zoom to return to the orbit mode.
Walk mode: To walk, there is a 'joystick' in the bottom left corner. Place your finger on the joystick and move it forward and around
Slice mode: You can cut through the model to give you a view of each level of the building. To enter slice mode, press the button.
A box appears around the model showing the slice level. To change to level of the slice, tap the edge of the box...
...and drag it up or down, click the edge of the box again to view the slice.
You can use orbit and walk modes with the slice activated. Click the slice button again to leave slice mode.
There is a version of BIMx you can use on a PC or Mac: *PRESS ESCAPE* to toggle the black menu bar before trying to walk around!!! Use the mouse to look around, and the cursor keys to move around. Pressing F will allow you to fly around, and pass through walls.
